About us @ Critter Caboodle
Hi, well my name is Samantha Nye, this is me pictured. I am the owner of Critter Caboodle. I have for a long time dreamt of running my own pet-sitting service, in 2009 this finally became real. Due to lack of space I can only board small animals, which is where Critter came in. Caboodle just rolled off the tongue. I even drew my own logo in 2004, as you can see things have changed a lot.
From an early age I took an interest in creepy crawlies, then rodents and then reptiles. As a young teen I would give a home to the occasional unwanted animal. I would drive my parents crazy. At one point I had 39 pets this included, 9 fish, 19 budgies, 3 cats and various rodents.
Growing up I helped out at a local farm and did work experience at a local veterinary surgery. After school I decided to extend my knowledge by going to college to study Animal Care. With this I also got the chance to learn on the college farm and do more work experience, which included dog grooming, a small zoo and I had the opportunity to learn at The Animal reception Centre, Heathrow’s animal quarantine area.
Whilst studying, I also worked a couple of days a week at a local pet shop. This has been invaluable to me.
